Air cooling, also known as Freecooling, allows for cost-effective cooling with minimal energy consumption. Our Freecoolers in the FAW series are equipped with an integrated control system that automatically switches the valve when there is a temperature difference (Delta T) of 4°C. Thanks to the plug-and-play functionality, no additional investments are required.

Efficient Freecooling Modules
These coolers are mainly used for cooling liquids, water, glycol, oils, process media, and steam. Dry coolers are also used for the cooling of water-cooled chillers in refrigeration and air conditioning technology. The free cooler is serially integrated into the hydraulic system, so that the coolant is pre-cooled by the free cooler before reaching the chiller. This enables a bivalent-parallel operation of the liquid chiller. Depending on the climatic situation, the free cooler and/or the chiller are used together or individually. Pre-cooling or main cooling of the coolant takes place via the air cooler.
The lifespan of the chiller is extended by the duration of the free cooling period. Serial integration of free cooling into the chiller is hydraulically and control-technically challenging, as the chiller is highly sensitive to fluctuating and rapidly changing temperatures. Our air coolers are specially designed for chillers.
